Very strange and beautiful at the same time
PETA would have something to say about this.
People for the Eating of Tasty Animals?
Art ?
Looks more like sadism towards animals !
This is garbage. I find it repulsive.
Does art have to be beautiful?
Is the purpose of art to inspire love?
Or can a piece be art by inspiring any emotional reaction?
Picasso’s Guernica is a painting of a genocide.
It’s intended to provoke a strong reaction.
Anger, Sadness, Regret, Political angst, are all undeniable themes in modern art. So what about shock?
The juxtaposition of nature and death in this piece is shocking in ways that reading about endangered tigers or wolves isn’t.
Though perhaps I’m reading environmentalist themes into the piece that the artist didn’t.
Warhol, and Pollock had critics say their work wasn’t art.
Many modern art pieces depend on viewer reaction, and aim to inspire unique viewer interpretations.
These wolves and tigers are hardly ground-breaking.
Damien Hirst has been displaying real animals in formaldehyde, calling it art, and selling it for millions since 1993.
I’m not trying to say that I like this piece. I’m just saying that I’m certainly prepared to call it art.
Terrible! The only “people” that could possibly think this is art, are fat, useless, liberal, women! Brainless morons that try to pretend their inteligent and refined! Because of you, “waste of skin,” retards like this, make millions! Thanks for continuing to dumb up the nation!
I like the wolf piece.
I mean if I were to walk into that room, I’d be impressed.
…the tigers, however, are very awkward and the ratty arrows don’t help it at all.
It’s definitely art, but so are my 5-year-old son’s drawings.
Art is not synonymous with quality.
1. Fuck PETA. They’re disgraceful hypocrites. The vice-president of the organization uses insulin that was TESTED ON ANIMALS! She says that she needs her life to keep fighting for the lives of the animals. WRONG! If she was true to her oaths and organization, she’d fuckin’ die or be in worse health with a different kind of insulin; all so she could save the precious animals.
2. And Mark. Shut the fuck up. You think that I’m ‘dumbing’ down the nation because I might have the audacity to call this art? Lemme show ya something. ‘their inteligent’ You’re the one who can’t spell or use grammar, and that’s even more embarrassing when you’re trying to sound smart, when it is obviously out of your reach. ‘Intelligent’ is spelled with two L’s, MORON! And you have the wrong ‘their’ idiot. It’s they’re, as in, they are. You’re nothing but an afterbirth of a butt-fucked lesbian, you twat-waffle. Go sit and spin.
By the way, I’m a woman, and I just corrected you. You’ll find that a lot throughout your life, and they will all be right.
Have a wonderful day, everybody.
Also, both pieces of the art above are fascinating. Absolutely beautiful work ^^
This is just an installation at the Guggenheim in New York. It really doesn’t translate well to the web–it’s much more powerful and makes more sense in the museum.
Wow, that’s quite the art exhibit! Would love to check it out in person :)
