USA is the best place on Earth just as long as I just see it on TV. If, God forbid, I ever had to live there well I'd be a hermit and a recluse for fear of having to socialize with as$holes, like the Texan troll who's previous posts infest this blog.

And if we Europeans say we are and feel like Europeans(instead of French or English or German or Danish or Hungarian or Greek or whatever) then you Americans will just have to swallow it. Much like we recognise you as Americans while all you are is a collection the descendants of misfits and rejects from every possible place on Earth.

Now as far as specific comparisons go. Napoleon vs George Washington? C'mon that's just unfair! One managed to start from the bottom and become Emperor of most of Europe the other one reluctantly received command of a raggedy army from a continental council when all he wanted to do really was grow pot in his farm. Thumbs up for the pot-growing part though! Go George,go! I'm with you all the way on this one! I think I would have gotten along much better with George, personally, but let's face it. Napoleon was a born leader, a phenomenon, among men while George was just a glorified employee really.

Mercedes vs Cadillac. Or most European cars vs American cars, generally. That's unfair, too. We Europeans make cars, you Americans make battleships that cruise on dry land, end of story and no further argument required.

Shakespeare vs Scott Fitzgerald. Another totally unfair comparison. Bill was a pioneer in his work while Scott was just another good writer. Also I'm not a fan of literature but I still know about Bill's work and most of his playwrights. "Jazz Age" literature on the other hand, I've never even heard of the term before I read it on here. Plus something tells me that even average Americans would be more familiar with Bill than Scott. So, another one put to rest.

Roger Federer vs Tiger Woods. I don't particularly admire either of them. I generally don't admire athletes. I think in the age of reason, that we live in today, it's kind of stupid to glorify people whose only achievement is that they turned their bodies into a well-oiled single-purpose machine. Still Federer strikes me as a way more cultured person than Woods could ever be. And I'm not saying that because Woods was screwing around on his wife. Strauss-Kahn did much of the same, too, but I totally respect the man, while I can't say the same about Woods.

The Beatles vs Elvis. Once again, come on!!! The Beatles were more like a phenomenon, rather than a group of people!!! They were middle class teenagers that opposed all the rotten moralities of the "old" society around them, radicalized themselves and ultimately become symbols to their generation's revolution against the elders' ideals. Elvis was just a hillbilly farm-boy that made it big "cuz he wanted to buy his momma a gilded crib, cuz he wuz a good boy, and good boys love their momma"...Another unfair comparison.

Moscow vs Washington D.C. Now that could be a fair comparison. Both places, I'd kill myself if I had to live there. For totally different reasons each. Still Moscow is not exactly your typical European capital. If you asked me what about Amsterdam vs Washington though...I wouldn't even set my fat blunt on the ashtray to bother answering!!! There ya go, that's your answer!

Bridge vs Bridge or American Engineering vs European Engineering. I'd say that is a tie if there ever was one on the list. I can't think of anything wrong about American landmarks(excluding Lady Liberty of course which is French made, thus European). I'd say they're just as good as the Europeans' and maybe even better. By better I don't mean more aesthetically pleasing of course. Aesthetics and Americans are two words that hardly share anything other than a common initial letter anyway so yeah...but as far as stability and innovation is considered, structurally maybe our American friends have gotten us beaten on that one. Again let's choose to forget that grand suspension bridge they built back in the 30s-40s-50s, don't rightly remember when exactly, that ocellated so violently it collapsed. Was it the predecessor of the modern Golden Gate Bridge? I'm not really sure and I'm too bored to bother Googling that now...Same goes for the stadiums pretty much. I really can't figure out why I should pick one over the other? They're both great I guess! Still "soccer" rules, where "football" is a sad excuse for a sport.

Monica vs Angelina...Ok, I'm really struggling to understand the comparison here. They both got the built of an ancient Greek godess, and I'd bed them both should I ever get the chance so I'm really not sure what I should conclude on this one. Plus Angelina really isn't your typical Mid-Western American cow-girl that would be more representing of America. I mean she's got wits and character!!! I think a better comparison here would be Monica Belucci vs Dolly Parton or something. In which case well, I could maybe stand Dolly waiting our table when I'd take Monica out to dinner.

Snatch vs The Godfather. Another hard one to pick. I loved both films when I first saw them but it still is an unfair comparison. I mean the Godfather is like the pinnacle of American filmaking. While Snatch was just another great British production. In other words, we Europeans don't get overlyexcited everytime we make a great movie because that's what we do consistently really. While the release of an American great movie really is an occasion to celebrate because, well..., they just don't come as often!

As far as Mountain vs Mountain is concerned that's just stupid. They're both snow-capped huge pieces of rock. And as far as snow-capped pieces of rock go, I guess they're both ok.

Best regards,

A little bit harsh for the americans to be compared...first of all they have a recent history...and that's why they cannot compare, never with Europe...they simply don;t have a culture of their own.

Comparing the achievements of areas with very similar land masses is alot fairer than when the U.S compete's as a 300 million + population nation against say the netherlands which is alot smaller and has a population of only 16 million.. I like this way!
