The best thing about Google is that he never needed some kind of spacey design, and as you will see its look hasn’t changed a lot since the 90s’. Simple logo with only a few links below is the best recipe for success if you asked people from Google.

Once upon a time Yahoo was very simple and very easily to be surveyed. Links that were located one next to each other, good news and calm colors led Yahoo to the top of web sites. Was it the design the one who determinate the Yahoos destiny or was it the Google’s engine which was being used for years that is to be held responsible for its success, it’s up to you to decide.

Facebook has always had a beautiful design. The combination of beautiful design and good web site is undoubtedly a winning ticket. In a short period of time it became well known and went up to the third position. I would say that spam which was sent is responsible for such a good setting. They made a great net and it is worth of mention.

If you were to be Bill Gates and the owner of “Microsoft” surely you would have your site and surely it would be one of the most visited sites. Live.com had some faults in its design, but with good marketing and some money anything is possible, isn’t it?

It looks like the designers from Youtube and Google had the same ideas. There weren’t many changes on the site in the past four years, but there is a big change in contest and a huge change in speed of streaming the video clips.

The great combination of links and arrangement of icons simply lured you to keep on clicking. It’s not only the design that attracts people, but also the conception of an open source encyclopedia itself is a great idea. The only remark we have is regarding to the non followers’ attachment. There were many bloggers who contributed to the expansion of this site by adding their link backs, and now this is not possible.

This is the site where Google really gave its best when it comes to design. At that time they had the best looking web site and best packed information on the best possible spots. The only thing we don’t like here are many in frames. But, at that time it was really good, since everyone was using in frames.

There are many people that are disappointed in this site and not only for its design. Since this is a list of old designs we must say and couple of good words about it, because, up to the standards at that time, it looked pretty good even if it didn’t have the same usage as now. File sharing systems became on of the biggest social bookmarks. Check it out!
