We all heard stories about Earth pollution very often and one of the biggest problems is air pollution. It looks like people are aware that the air we breathe contains gases, which are produced mostly by vehicles that we drive (about 60% of all carbon monoxide emissions and up to 95% in cities!)  Some of the biggest car companies has already prepared their “ecology cars” and here we will talk about Tesla Motors – company,specified for cars with electric engine. Could these kind of vehicles help us to solve the worldwide problem with the air pollution? We hope that the new time has come and that the other will follow this example for are own good.

“Describe how you can measure the height of a skyscraper with a regular barometer .” – This was a question on the physics exam at the University of Copenhagen.

One of the students answered: “Around the tip of the skyscraper tie one end of long cord, and slowly bring down barometer from the roof of the skyscraper to the ground. The length of the cord banded to the length of the barometer is, in fact, the height of the skyscraper”

The professor was very enraged with this quite genuine answer, so the student failed the exam and was excluded from physics class at this university. The student appealed on his basic rights with an explanation that his answer was undeniably correct, and because of that university formed special independent committee which was to estimate this case. The president of the committee decided that the answer was indeed correct, but that it wasn’t relevant as an evidence of knowledge in this matter of physics. In order to resolve the problem, it was decided that the student should appear in front of a special committee, and in that case he would have six minutes to verbally answer the exam question and by doing so prove his knowledge in basic principles of physics.

If your a fan of Thomas Woodruff’s paintings, then you’ll be pleased to know about his latest works, entitled: “Solar System (The Turning Heads),”on show at NYC’s P.P.O.W. This new series is a dazzling parade of super magical otherworldliness to celebrate a fanciful universe of weird beauty with an incredibly unique touch, using richly layered paint and subdued colors. Woodruff’s a master of hybridizing vocabularies from the past and present, referencing sideshow banners, Pompeian wall frescoes, Baroque religious paintings, theatrical posters, and Victorian penmanship charts to create new planetary oddities with a twist – every painting from this series is meant to be flipped, thereby revealing an inverse meaning.

Another system, called ULTra (Urban Light Transport) and developed by the British company Advanced Transport Systems (ATS), also offers on-demand personal transport with virtually no waiting time to take individual passengers non-stop to their chosen destination.

A walking work of art, Gregory Da Silva is more than an odd spectacle – he is a symbol of Africa’s many diverse cultures…In the first heady years of the African Union, the world’s eyes are increasingly turned to the continent from which humankind first appeared. Beneath the seemingly impenetrable mask of violence portrayed in popular media, lies a living and thriving cultural climate which Des Warde finds well depicted by West African street artist Gregory Da Silva.

The project takes place in a former 1200 square meter anti-atomic shelter. An amazing location 30 meters down under the granite rocks of the Vita Berg Park in Stockholm. The client is an internet provider and the rock shelter hosts server halls and offices. The starting point of the project was to consider the rock as a living organism. The humans try to acclimate themselves to this foreign world and bring the ‘best’ elements from earth: light, plants, water and technology. We created b contrasts between rooms where the rock dominates and where the human being is a stranger against rooms where the human being took over totally.

People often associate long exposures (or long shutter speeds) with night photography. What is overlooked are the amazing photos you can get with longer shutter speeds, ranging from 1/15 of a second up to many hours. What’s more, these aren’t tricky, and don’t require sophisticated cameras and lenses. Because of the techniques associated with shooting at varying lengths of (longer) shutter speeds, I break them down into three categories: Shorter exposures, which go from about 1/20th of a second to several seconds, medium exposures, which go up to about a minute, and long exposures, which can be indefinitely long.
