The world’s largest salt flat, the Salar de Uyuni in Southwestern Bolivia, is one of the most exotic place scenes on earth. Due to its large size, smooth surface, high surface reflectivity when covered with shallow water, and minimal elevation deviation, Salar de Uyuni makes an ideal target for the testing and calibration of remote sensing instruments on orbiting satellites used to study the Earth.

We got to know her better with the movie Vanilla Sky in which she stared with Tom Cruise, that latter became her husband and even latter her ex husband, and now, her latest movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona, a movie by Woody Allen in which she stared with Javier Bardem and Scarlett Johansson. She is perhaps best known for her work with acclaimed Spanish director, Pedro Almodóvar, in Volver and Todo sobre mi madre. She is the first Spanish woman to win an acting Academy Award.
