In geometry, the stereographic projection is a particular mapping (function) that projects a sphere onto a plane. The projection is defined on the entire sphere, except at one point — the projection point. Where it is defined, the mapping is smooth and bijective. It is conformal, meaning that it preserves angles. It is neither an isometry nor area-preserving: that is, it preserves neither distances nor the areas of figures.

Chinese artist Li Wei from Beijing started off his performance series ‘Mirroring’ and later on took off attention with his ‘Falls’ series which shows the artist with his head and chest embedded into the ground. Li Wei states that these images are not computer montages and works with the help of props such as mirror, metal wires, scaffolding and acrobatics.

This is an amazing collection of baby animal images from National Geographic. They are so beautiful, inspiring and moving. Besides the beauty of nature that all National Geographic photos show these are even more beautiful because they show sweet animal babies, and are the images of protecting mothers and their cubs. I hope you will enjoy in these amazing captions that show us how does a childhood look like in the wild. You can find more photos like these here.

Here is an amazing collection of old black and white photos that will take you on the journey through the history of the twentieth century. These captions are so moving and inspiring that I’m sure nobody will remain lukewarm and unimpressed. I loved the last photo with car crash and dead horses, it is very symbolic and shows in an interesting way the history of progress, industrialization and mechanization. The twentieth century was also the century of World Wars, Communism and Nazi Germany. No matter how disturbing, these photos remind us of those times as well.
